This survey builds on previous surveys, primarily on the RAAAP (Research Administration As A Profession) series, and will focus on your job profile, career path, skills and competencies, as well as your training, mobility, and networking opportunities.
By participating, you contribute to:
- Building an inclusive definition and terminology including RM professional categories;
- Developing career development frameworks for RMs;
- Creating skills and competence matrixes specific to our profession;
- Establishing a comprehensive training scheme for future research managers.

Your responses are anonymous and will it take approximately 25 minutes to complete.
Collected data will be shared via online open access repositories (Figshare and Zenodo) after thorough anonymisation. Results of the research will be also published open access in research reports and possibly in peer-reviewed scientific publications which shall include the characterisation of the national professional communities. It is also important to ensure a representative participation of the national professional communities in the field of research management.

RM Roadmap co-creation session 1: It’s time to vote!
We are now at the final stage of the first RM Roadmap co-creation session and we are asking you to state whether you believe that your country’s consensus document reflects the national picture.
Already, more than 1,400 research managers from 40 nations across Europe have joined us on the RM Roadmap Knowledge and Community Platform to share their views regarding national research management associations and networks.
Your opinion is valuable to the outcomes of the RM Roadmap project and will shape the future of research management in Europe.
You do not need to be an EARMA member to participate in the co-creation sessions and there is no charge to take part.
If you have an EARMA account, use your EARMA account to log in and join the RM Roadmap groups. If you do not have an EARMA account, you can register for the RM Roadmap groups.
